Certifications That Open Markets
Every international spice buyer faces the same question before signing a contract: can this supplier prove what they claim? For UnitedSpices, the answer is documented, audited and renewed year after year. Our certification portfolio is built specifically to satisfy the compliance teams of importers in the EU, US, Middle East, UK and Asia-Pacific — the same markets our full spice range ships to every month.
As a certified spice exporter in India, we treat certifications as operating discipline, not paperwork. Each certificate is backed by the systems, records and testing regime described on our Quality Standards page — from lab-tested batches to full farm-to-port traceability.

Certifications satisfy import regulations in 30+ countries, reducing customs delays and rejections.
Retail & HORECA Ready

Eight Certifications, One Standard
Every certification below is currently active, independently audited and available for verification
FSSAI
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
ActiveAbout This Certification
FSSAI registration is the baseline food safety license required to manufacture, process and export food products from India. Our FSSAI license covers procurement, cleaning, grading, processing and packing of all spice categories at our Coimbatore facility, and is renewed on schedule with no lapses since registration.
Certification Scope
ISO 22000:2018
Food Safety Management System
ActiveAbout This Certification
ISO 22000:2018 governs our entire food safety management system, integrating HACCP principles across procurement, processing, storage and dispatch. It is the certification most frequently requested by European and North American import compliance teams, and underpins the testing regime described on our Quality Standards page.
Certification Scope
Organic
NPOP (India) & USDA NOP
ActiveAbout This Certification
Our organic certification is issued under India’s National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and recognised under the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) through the US–India equivalence arrangement, making certified lots acceptable for import into both the EU and US. Organic lots of turmeric, cumin, coriander, fennel seeds and fenugreek are processed on dedicated cleaning lines to prevent commingling with conventional stock.
Certification Scope
Halal
Halal Certification
ActiveAbout This Certification
Our Halal certification confirms that sourcing, processing and packing meet Halal dietary requirements, with no cross-contact with non-Halal ingredients or processing lines. This certification is widely required by importers across the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia, and is issued alongside batch-specific documentation for each shipment.
Certification Scope
Kosher
Kosher Certification
ActiveAbout This Certification
Kosher certification is maintained across our core spice range for buyers supplying kosher-observant retail and food-service channels in the US, Israel and Western Europe. Certification is renewed annually by an accredited kosher agency, with supporting documentation issued per shipment on request.
Certification Scope
Spices Board of India
Registration-cum-Membership Certificate
ActiveAbout This Certification
Registration with the Spices Board of India (RCMC) is mandatory for any legitimate spice exporter operating from India, and confirms our standing as a recognised exporter for customs, banking and government export-incentive purposes. This registration is renewed continuously alongside our other statutory approvals.
Certification Scope
GMP
Good Manufacturing Practice
ActiveAbout This Certification
GMP certification confirms that hygiene, facility design, equipment maintenance and personnel practices at our processing unit meet internationally recognised manufacturing standards — a requirement frequently checked by pharmaceutical and nutraceutical-grade spice buyers in addition to standard food-grade importers.
Certification Scope
Non-GMO
Non-GMO Verification
On RequestAbout This Certification
Since spices are naturally non-GMO crops, we issue a Non-GMO declaration per shipment rather than maintaining a standing product-level certificate — supported by supplier affidavits and, where required by the buyer, third-party laboratory verification. This is provided at no extra cost as part of our standard export documentation package.

Certification FAQs
What buyers want to know before relying on our certifications
What certifications does UnitedSpices hold for spice exports?
UnitedSpices holds eight active certifications covering food safety, quality management and religious or dietary compliance: FSSAI registration, ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management, Organic certification (NPOP & USDA NOP), Halal certification, Kosher certification, Spices Board of India registration, GMP compliance and Non-GMO verification. Copies of current certificates are available on request to verified buyers.
Are Halal and Kosher certifications available by default or only on request?
All eight certifications are actively maintained and valid year-round β none are obtained reactively. What is prepared on request is the shipment-specific documentation package: batch certificates, lab reports and declarations tied to a particular order, which we issue once that order is confirmed.
Can you provide certification documents before we place an order?
Yes. We can share current copies of our FSSAI license, ISO 22000 certificate, organic certification, Halal and Kosher certificates, Spices Board of India registration, GMP certificate and Non-GMO declaration with any verified buyer before an order is placed, so you can complete your own supplier due diligence in advance.
Is your organic certification recognized in the EU and US?
Yes. Our organic certification is issued under India's National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and is equivalent to, and accepted under, the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) through the USβIndia organic equivalence arrangement, making our organic-certified spices acceptable for import into both the EU and US markets.
Do your certifications cover all products, or only specific spices?
Coverage varies by certification. FSSAI, ISO 22000, Spices Board of India registration and GMP apply across our entire product range. Organic certification applies to designated organic lots of turmeric, cumin, coriander, fennel seeds and fenugreek. Halal, Kosher and Non-GMO certification are available across our range and are typically confirmed per order based on the buyer's specific product and market requirements.
How can we verify that a certification is current and valid?
Every certificate we issue carries a certificate number and validity date that can be verified directly with the issuing body β for example FSSAI license status can be checked on the FSSAI portal, and ISO certification through our certification body's public register. We are also happy to provide the latest validity confirmation directly on request.
Need Specific Certification Documents?
Our compliance team can prepare a full certification and lab-report package for your order or supplier due-diligence review — usually within one business day.
